Thailand’s largest low cost airline Thai AirAsia confirms to start flying between U Tapao Pattaya International Airport and Mainland China. The three selected cities are Nanchang, Nanning and Hangzhou. Hangzhou will however be served on a charter basis until October 24 with three weekly services.
Nanning will be served with four flights a week. The city is the capital of the Guangxi Province which is included within the Greater Mekong Sub-region. It will also be an easy gateway to Guilin, a famed tourist attraction.
Nanchang is the capital city of Jiangxi Province in Southeastern China. The province is home to the famous Lushan National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996 and of Mount Longhu, dubbed as the craddle to Taoism. Three flights will be proposed per week.
By year end, the airline will open more routes to domestic and international destinations and will station two Airbus A320 at the airport.
In July, Malaysian AirAsia launched four weekly services to Kuala Lumpur from U Tapao Pattaya International Airport.
