Airbnb Reaches Also Cambodia

Cambodian newspaper Phnom Penh Post reports that Airbnb, an online home rental site based in San Francisco is also developing in Cambodia where appartments can be now rented for a fraction of the price of a hotel. According to the newspaper, more than 270 different rentals are available in Phnom Penh. A month rent can cost as little as 250 dollars a month or 25 to 30 dollars a night. Average price is around US$37 a night.

Airbnb is favoured increasingly by travellers who can also get the knowledge from a local when renting an appartment.

Some hotels even use Airbnb reservation system to sell rooms. The newspaper evocates rooms sold arounf US$45 per night at the Anise Hotel and Restaurant. Sokha Hotels & Resorts joined Airbnb weeks ago to promote Sokha Phnom Penh Residence – the serviced apartment arm of the hotel on Chroy Changvar peninsula , which is facing the city centre of Phnom Penh along the Mekong River. The property was launched last March.
