Haiphong Turns into a Priority Tourism Destination

Haiphong City -120 km North of Hanoi and third largest city in Vietnam- has recently recognised two routes and six destinations as local notable tourist attractions. They will receive consequently help Haiphong and its surroundings to be priority  investment destinations in a bid to develop relevant tourism products and services.

The two routes include a countryside journey through Kien An, An Lao, Tien Lang and Vinh Bao districts, which goes through a series of historical and scenic sites, such as Hang Kenh communal house, Thien Van hill, Thang Phuc pagoda, and Tien Lang thermal spring. The other tourist route connects Haiphong and Cat Ba island district,¬† opening to tourists the opportunity to enjoy local communities’ lifestyles.

The six destinations include the Lan Ha Bay, Tien Lang hotsprings and Cat Co beaches.

All the destinations are well connected by local transport companies to and from Haiphong, which will act as a tourism gateway to the entire region. Tourists wishing to reach Haiphong can easily arrive by train, aircraft and national bus services. Around 5.5 million tourists visited Haiphong in 2015. The city offers fine colonial heritage buildings including a city museum and an opera house, beautiful lake vista and historical pagodas.
