Commencing on 28 May 2016 hybride carrier Hong Kong Airlines will launch the only direct air service providing between Hong Kong and Kuching, Malaysia. The new service will be operated by an all-economy class Airbus A320 aircraft which will fly twice weekly the route. Kuching will further strengthen the airline’s network in Southeast Asia.
Kuching is Sarawak’s capital city, as well as one of the largest cities in the island of Borneo. For travellers who like to dig deeper into the beauty a city, the unique history and culture, as well as nature and wildlife of Kuching will provide new opportunities to explore one of Southeast Asia most exotic destination. Bako Natural Park offers a tranquil wilderness walking along the forest trail, and at the same time help to better understand the diverse habitat at Borneo.
Sarawak Cultural Village is another popular destination where visitors can learn all about the myriad of local ethnics living in the State. Kuching city centre has gained vibrance over the year with its popular waterfront along the Sarawak River while the old town has many intimate bars and restaurants where young artists are meeting. Kuching is turning increasingly sophisticated for shopping freaks with many new malls as well as a range of antique shops in its old town.

Kuching is Hong Kong Airlines sixth destination in ASEAN. The carrier serves also Bangkok, Denpasar/Bali, Hanoi, Krabi and Phnom Penh.
