Cambodia Mulls Multi-Entry Visas for Non-ASEAN visitors

Cambodia is looking at introducing eventually multiple entry visas for foreign travellers according to some local reports. Foreign tourists can so far only obtain a single entry visa. Only ASEAN travellers – Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam- are exempted for the time being.

Cambodia visa regime provides only for now a single-entry visa for all other foreign travellers. Each tourist visa costs US$30 while a single business travel visa costs US$35.

The new visa could have a validity period up to two years but so far neither an introduction date or a price have been communicated. It would help boosting tourism to Cambodia as the country is still mostly linked to other destinations in the region. Many visitors include a trip in Vietnam with an extension to Siem Reap/Angkor Wat. Such a facility for a multi-entry visa would then help creating new circuits iriginating in Cambodia and finishing there; or foster spontaneous excursions by giving greater flexibility for visitors who wants to visit many times in a year the kingdom.
