AirAsia, the truly ASEAN airline, announced a new route connecting Luang Prabang in Laos directly to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with four weekly flights commencing November 21 2016. The air connection was already announced a few months ago but just confirmed this week.
AirAsia is the first and only airline to operate direct flights from Luang Prabang to Kuala Lumpur. This will be the airline’s 70th intra-ASEAN route connecting all ten ASEAN countries, as well as the airline’s fourth route out of Laos after Vientiane–Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok, as well as Luang Prabang–Bangkok.
To celebrate the introduction of this brand new route, AirAsia is offering a promotional price for a limited period of time. The travel period for this promotion is from November 21, 2016 until October 28, 2017.

Kuala Lumpur will be a new alternative for Luang Prabang inhabitants and large expat. community. It has a lot to offer as a travel destination with the coexistence of colourful cultures, excellent shopping facilities as well as a a great variety of cuisines. The city is also the gateway to the UNESCO Heritage Site of Melaka, just about two hour’s drive away from the airport.
