Thailand Minor Group is rebranding from November 1st, 2016 the Pattaya Marriott Resort & Spa—a well-known property of Pattaya travellers—into Avani Pattaya Resort & Spa. Avani is Minor Group’s own four-star brand. Minor has owned the Marriott property since 1978, under the original name of ” Royal Garden Resort”.
The property is currently undergoing refurbishment of all its rooms and is expected to reopen under the new brand as soon as November. The resort features 298 guest rooms and suites, five F&B outlets, a swimming pool, a health club, two tennis courts and a spa.It is well known among travellers for its huge garden, stretching over 5.7 hectares of land overlooking the beach.

Minor has been rebranding its owned hotel assets under its own brands over the last two years. Earlier, the Marriott and Four Seasons hotels in Bangkok were converted to Minor deluxe brand Anantara. Avani Pattaya Resort & Spa is the fourth location of the brand in Thailand, the three others being two properties in Bangkok and one in Khon Kaen. The latter was until July 1st Centara Hotel & Convention Centre Khon Kaen.
