Airbnb Opens a Complaint Centre for Neighbours

The popularity of Airbnb is also bringing new problems to private properties with people starting to voice their concern about the permanent movement of strangers coming into their premises.

Airbnb has opened a complaint centre where neighbours can report problems about disrespectful hosts and guests. The move is meant to appease the increasingly vocal and disgruntled neighbours of Airbnb hosts, who complain of the parade of strangers entering their buildings and neighbourhoods.

Now, neighbours with complaints and concerns can air their beefs with Airbnb officially at a new site www.airbnb.com/neighbors .

People can submit concerns anonymously about noise, common spaces, parking, personal safety or general concerns about the listing, which will then be passed along to the host.

“We’ll treat each case seriously and ensure that we give hosts and their neighbours the opportunity to resolve concerns themselves, whenever possible,” says Airbnb.

“Hosting is a big responsibility and those who repeatedly fail to meet our standards and expectations will be subject to suspension or removal from the Airbnb community.”
