Malaysia Airlines and Garuda Indonesia have been working for a couple of years on code share flights. But starting next week, the Malaysian carrier will add its code on a dozen new domestic routes flown by Garuda Indonesia. The additional domestic services will be operated via Jakarta.
The expanded codeshare partnership is due to start from May 9, 2017 and should cover the following routes:
Jakarta – Bandar Lampung (Sumatra)
Jakarta – Banjarmasin (Borneo/South Kalimantan)
Jakarta – Makassar (South Sulawesi)
Jakarta – Palembang (South Sumatra)
Jakarta – Semarang (Central Java)
Jakarta – Solo (Central Java)
Jakarta – Surabaya (East Java)
Jakarta – Yogyakarta (Java).
In another development, Indonesia national carrier is adding new domestic routes out of Ambon in Maluku. The carrier will offer a daily flight betwee Ambon and Surabaya as well as six weekly services between Ambon and Utarom with further continuation to Manokwari (3 times a week) and to Nabire (3 times a week).
