Budget airline Jetstar Pacific officially launched two new direct air routes connecting Da Nang and Ha Noi of Viet Nam with Osaka, one of Japan’s largest cultural and industrial centres, on September 1.
This is the first time Vietnam and Japan are being brought closer together by using low-cost airlines’ services. The new route will facilitate the travel of businessmen and contribute to stimulate the increasing travel demand between the two countries.
Jetstar Pacific will put on both routes its modern Airbus A320s. The carrier will offer a frequency of four flights per week.
Nguyen Quoc Phuong, Jetstar Pacific General Director, revealed that over 20,000 passengers have registered to purchase Hanoi-Osaka and Danang-Osaka tickets so far, with 90% of the seats for the first two flights already sold.
The airfare for these direct routes starts from just VND1.5 million, equivalent to US$68.18 or YEN8,800. The tickets are available on the airline’s website and through travel agents nationwide.
Vietnam and Japan share many similarities in terms of culture. Currently, Japan is Vietnam’s leading economic and trade partner. The cooperative relations and exchange between the two countries’ localities have also been continuously expanded.
In 2016, Viet Nam welcomed more than 740,000 visitors from Japan and the figure is expected to continue growing considerably in the time ahead thanks to the newly launched low-cost direct air routes.
