Fairfield by Marriott is a ‘Classic Select’ brand under Marriott management which celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2017. The chain has been focusing increasingly to develop in Southeast Asia. In the fast-growing upper midscale hotel segment, Fairfield hotels target business and leisure travellers looking for quality and value. In the Asia-Pacific region, Fairfield Hotels has 12 properties but it is targeting to triple its footprint by 2019.
Next tyo China and India, Indonesia is one of the targeted countries by Fairfield for expansion. The first Fairfield property opened in Surabaya back to 2016, offering 270 rooms and suites, a restaurant, bar and mini-market. There is also a spa, fitness centre and an outdoor rooftop pool.
A second Fairfield property just opened in Belitung, an island located east of Sumatra. The hotel has an architecture design which is inspired by the traditional ‘Rumah Panggung’ stilted houses with simple interiors that exude a warm welcome.
Located at Tanjung Pendam Beach, Fairfield by Marriott Belitung offers a total of 136 guestrooms, including 11 suites.
In terms of food and beverage selections, guests can choose from the Lobby Bar, the Market retail store, KAVA Restaurant which serves international cuisine, or the SIMPUR Bar for cocktails. Other facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, a kids’ pool, a fitness centre and various meeting spaces, including a 113-square-metre Pelenduk Room, 54-square-metre Labi Labu Room and 57-square-metre Trenggiling Room. The HAS Hanandjoeddin International Airport is only 25 minutes away from this hotel.
This year, Marriott is looking to open a third Fairfield property in Bali. The hotel has been delayed by two years but is now ready to weclome its guests. It is located in Legian and offers 154 rooms and nine suites.
