Vietjet Adds New Routes from Vietnam to Korea and Taiwan

Vietjet is adding two new routes to Taichung in Taiwan and Daegu in Korea out of Hanoi and Danang.

Vietjet has started selling tickets on two new international routes including Hanoi – Taichung (Taiwan) and Danang – Daegu (South Korea). The new routes will meet the traveling demand of local people and tourists; thus contributing to regional trade and integration promotion.

The Hanoi – Taichung route will be operated with five return flights per week on every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from June 22nd . The flight time for this route will last approximately two and a half hours. The flight departs from Hanoi at 13:00 and arrive in Taichung at 16:30 (local time). The return flight takes off at 17:30 (local time) in Taichung and lands in Hanoi at 19:20.

The Danang – Daegu route will be operated on a daily basis from July 19th with the flying time being approximately 4 hours and 15 minutes. The flight will depart from Danang at 00:15 and arrive in Daegu at 06:30 (local time). The return flight will off at Daegu at 07:30 (local time) and lands in Danang at 10:00 everyday.

With six routes including HCMC – Taipei; Hanoi – Taipei; HCMC – Kaohsiung; Hanoi – Kaohsiung; HCMC – Tainan; HCMC – Taichung, Vietjet is the airline flying to the most Taiwanese destinations from Vietnam.

Daegu is the fourth largest city of South Korea, after Seoul, Busan and Incheon. With convenient and diversified transportation system, Daegu connects with many major cities of South Korea. Palgongsan Mountain, Cosmos Land or many famous parks including Apsan Park, Woobang Tower, Daegu Arboretum, Mangwoo Park, Gyeongsan-gamyeong and Gukchaebosang Memorial Park are the most favourite places of tourists in Daegu.

The tickets are available in all travel channels, on Vietjet Air booking system as well as  in ticket offices and travel agents. Payment can be easily made with debit and credit cards of Visa/ MasterCard/ AMEX/ JCB/ KCP/ any ATM card issued by 32 Vietnamese banks that have been registered with internet banking.

The airline recently announced its financial performance during the first quarter of the year.During that period, the airline’s growth rate increased significantly and exceeded expectations. Revenue stood at VND12,560 billion, an increase of 146% year-on-year thanks to growth in transport of passengers, ancillary and sales and leaseback revenue.

Thanks to airline’s fleet expansion, and along with the opening of new international routes, air transport revenue reached VND6,035 billion, an increase of 52% on the first quarter last year, and 10% higher than the company’s target. This increased Vietjet’s core business profit to nearly VND737 billion, a 74% jump on the previous year. Ancillary revenue also increased by VND1,825 billion, an increment of 64% year-on-year.
