Sri Ayudhya Hospitality Co. Ltd. has the ambition to grow its portfolio of luxury and first class boutique hotels as highlighted by Mai Vannaying, Managing Director of the group. The group manages already three properties under the Vista and Akara brand and is due to add more properties in Bangkok and Pattaya by 2020.

The group is present with two Vista properties in both Pattaya and Bangkok Pratunam. Its latest opening in early summer 2018 is a flagship property in Bangkok Ratchaprarop district. The 82-room hotel is located close to Phaya Thai Skytrain and Airport Express station and is just across King Power Duty Free Mall in the Thai capital. The property features also two restaurants, a skybar with a view over the Pratunam area, a swimming pool, fitness room and a few meeting rooms. But not only…

The Akara Hotel Bangkok offers this special touch by focusing particularly on gastronomy. ” I have a true dedication for food and gastronomy and it started already when I was a child,” recalls Mai Vannaying, Managing Director of the Sri Ayudhya Hospitality Co. Ltd,.

“I started to practice cooking at age 12! and this passion for gastronomy from all around the world has grown over the years and I really wanted to integrate it in the hotel,” he adds.

In Akara Hotel, Mai Vannaying’s passion finds its full expression in a reading lounge, where guests can sit, relax and read – and eventually buy- books over cooking. The books’ collection reaches about 500 volumes.” They come all from my personal collection,” tells Vannaying with a certain pride.

Another important addition to the Akara Hotel is the integration of a cooking school. Roschas Culinary School opened its door in late summer. ‘ We see it as a knowledge and spiritual hub of authentic Thai cooking with the teaching for our participants of traditional Thai herbs and about the way to balance flavours which are so peculiar to Thai cuisine,” explains Mai Vannaying. The school has been already popular with both foreign and locals.

” We now look at further expansion with two properties due to open by 2020/2021. We will be present in Sukhumvit area with a property which will be very different of the Akara Bangkok. We look at a low rise building with a focus on nature for our next hotel. A kind of urban resort in the middle of Bangkok commercial heart,” adds Vannaying. ” In Pattaya, we are developing our largest property with a 315-room hotel stretching over 25 floors. It will be located in North Pattaya district next to the future Terminal 21 and will offer a spectacular rooftop bar with views on both the city and the nearby seaside.”
