While Dusit Hotels is waiting to be back in 2024 in the Thai capital with its new Dusit Thani Bangkok property, the company just announced to manage a new Bangkok property under the dusitD2 brand. It recently also reopened some of the Dusit Thani Bangkok famed restaurants in a superb private property in the Silom area.
Dusit International just announced to have signed a management contract with Tian Teck Property Company Limited to operate dusitD2 Samyan Bangkok. The property will be the first under the D2 name in the centre of the Thai capital. Slated to open in June 2023 on Si Phraya Road, a vibrant community which runs parallel to Silom and Sathorn Roads in Bangkok, the new hotel is designed to meet the needs of business and leisure travellers alike and offer easy access to major business and lifestyle hubs in this key area of the city.
Comprising 181 well-appointed guest rooms set over 23 floors, the property will feature a sleek, modern design reflecting the vibrant, upscale nature of the dusitD2 brand. Rooms and public areas will provide the utmost in comfort and convenience, while Dusit’s unique brand of Thai-inspired gracious hospitality will enrich the stay experience.
Among the hotel facilities will be a stylish lobby bar, a swimming pool with children’s pool, and a fully-equipped fitness centre. An all-day dining restaurant will offer daily buffet breakfast and a large selection of international cuisines.
The old Dusit Thani Bangkok -which closed its doors earlier this year for its complete redevelopment- had many faithful guests and clients, especially visiting the hotel’s restaurants and the bakery shop. “Demand was so high that Dusit International management decided to revive some of the outlets in nearby premises to the hotel,” explains Sureerat Sudpairak, Assistant Director Corporate Communications for Dusit International.
On Saladaeng Road, just behind Silom, the group has rented a superb property with its gardens to revive the spirit of Dusit Thani Bangkok’s signature coffee shop and restaurant. The space is called Baan Dusit Thani with the first outlet, Dusit Gourmet, receiving its first visitors since the end of July. The small house-which probably used to be the home for guardians of the property- has been turned into an intimate homely kitchen and dining room, with thoughtfully recrafted furniture from Dusit Thani Bangkok. A central counter serving quality teas and coffees, delicious baked goods, and light Thai and international bites. At night, the place turns into a bar.
By the end of September or by early October, Baan Dusit Thani will see the reopening of two more restaurants, Thien Duong Vietnamese Restaurant and Benjarong Thai Restaurant. Thien Duong will be located within the property’s compound in a former warehouse which is being turned into an French Indochina style space. Benjarong Thai Restaurant will move into an Art Nouveau villa -which is reminiscent of the Liberty style in the United States-, a property belonging to a rich Chinese Thai family involved into medical products. The villa was never opened to the public and is fully restored and will then welcome the public. With its gardens and its three restaurants, Baan Dusit Thani will be a new attraction for visitors in the Silom area, however for the next five years only!
Baan Dusit Thani should close effectively by 2024, when the new Dusit Thani Bangkok Central Park will open its doors. The futur hotel will consist of a a 39-storey, 250-room hotel and will stand next to two more towers for offices and residences as well as a nine-storey shopping mall…
