Regional Thai carrier Bangkok Airways signed a partnership with Southeast Asian online-shopping giant Shopee to be sold on its e-commerce platform.
Bangkok Airways Public Company Limited recently partnered with Shopee, the leading e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan. The partnership takes shape in the skies with a new plane design while both companies are cooperating b to promote the big campaign of the year “2019 Shopee 9.9 Super Shopping Day”. Bangkok Airways has officially opened its official store on the online platform and is offering special promotions for Shopee users as well as chance for users to win free flights on nine selected routes.
Mr. Komkrich Ngamwongwirot, Account Director – Europe, Africa, Middle East & Online Area of Bangkok Airways said that “This partnership is our first attempt to join forces with a big e-company such as Shopee, It is indeed our first e-commerce partner. I am confident that our partnership with Shopee will allow our airline to grow in e-commerce business and help us reach new markets. We see that e-commerce is increasingly popular in Thailand, and online shopping is now easier than ever. E-commerce can cater to every lifestyle need of digital shoppers. Shopee has a lot of users on its platform, and I am sure that through this channel we can increase awareness of our products and services. Additionally, our partnership with Shopee will also boost our sales opportunities and help us facilitate our customers better.”
“The new livery aircraft will begin its operation on 9 September, 2019, on some of Bangkok Airways’ routes such as Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phuket, Krabi, Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Mumbai, Danang, Mandalay, Yangon, Vientiane and Nha Trang. Moreover, some of our branded merchandise products will be made available for purchase on our Shopee store. Those who would like to purchase Bangkok Airways gift cards will be entitled to a 300 Baht bonus when purchasing a total gift card value of 3,000 Baht” Mr. Komkrich added.
In another development, the airline confirmed that it will start flying to Sihanoukville in Cambodia out of Bangkok on January 10. The daily flight will be served with an ATR72. A promotional fare is on offer until the end of October at THB5,800 (US$190) a return, including taxes.
