The Vietnamese low cost carrier launched on Christmas Eve a new route connecting Ho Chi Minh City to Pattaya-U-Tapao International Airport. This will be the first time that the resort city will have a non-stop flight to Vietnam.
Vietjet inaugurated on December 24 its maiden flights connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Thailand’s famous coastal destination of Pattaya/U-Tapao International Airport. The Ho Chi Minh City – Pattaya (U-Tapao) route is operated four return flights a week on every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday with flight duration of 1 hour and 30 minutes. The flight takes off from Ho Chi Minh City at 13:25 and arrives in U-Tapao at 14:40. The flight departs from U-Tapao at 11:25 and arrives in Ho Chi Minh City at 12:55.
Following the launch of Ho Chi Minh City-Pattaya route, Vietjet will operate the most routes and frequencies between Thailand and Vietnam with 8 direct routes totally, including Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City/Da Nang/Haiphong/Da Lat-Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi airport) and services from Ho Chi Minh City to Phuket/Chiang Mai and Ho Chi Minh City-Utapao. The opening of the newest service is expected to actively promote the number of tourists traveling between Ho Chi Minh City and the southern provinces of Vietnam with the Rayong and Pattaya area, a popular international tourist destination in Thailand. In addition, the new service will bring more convenient connection for international visitors via two gateways at Tan Son Nhat and U-Tapao International Airports.
To celebrate the new route during the festive season, super-saving tickets are given away from now until December 31, 2019. The promotional tickets are applied to the new route of Ho Chi Minh City-Pattaya. The travel period is from December 24, 2019 – March 31, 2020 (excluding taxes). The tickets are available on all Vietjet channels. Payment can be easily made with Vietjet SkyClub, Visa/ MasterCard/ AMEX/ JCB/ KCP/UnionPay cards; or with any ATM card issued by 34 Vietnamese banks and registered with internet banking.
U Tapao is regularly served by 10 scheduled carriers offering flights to 20 destinations. In 2019. the airport is due to pass for the first time the 2-million passengers mark, after 1.89 million passengers recorded in 2018.
